Web design Scotland: the problems owners bring us
These are the problems owners describe on a first call, in their own words, and what we do about each one.
Hotels and holiday lets with bigger budgets own the map, and our B&B sits below them
Scotland has 18,900 accommodation and food firms, 12,655 of them with fewer than ten staff, and 24,790 in construction, so a small owner shares the map with thousands. We tidy your Business Profile, name each area you serve, and you ask your own customers for reviews. Local SEO adds 1 new local page or post a month, and each report counts the calls and forms that came in.
A walker on a hillside has one bar of signal, opens our site and gives up
Visitors and locals alike search on a phone, often on a weak connection, and want opening times, a price steer and a button to call. Our pages are light and mobile-first, with a call button, a WhatsApp link and a short enquiry form, and you approve the design before anything is published. The aim is a site that fills the diary, not just a pretty one.
The agency we hired sent a monthly report full of jargon and no calls
Of the 8 Scottish pages we read, none printed a monthly SEO price, and the one SEO figure was "Prices from £750" with no word on whether it recurs. Ours are £295, £495 and £695 a month, three months to start, then 30 days’ notice. Each report lists calls, forms and rankings side by side, with a monthly call to go over it.
A visitor asked an AI assistant for a Scottish firm like ours and we weren’t named
Just 1 of the 8 Scottish pages we read names AI search in its body text, so 7 stay silent on it. Assistants tend to quote firms with a plain page per service, accurate hours, genuine customer reviews and structured data. We write that copy and add the markup. On Growth SEO and AI Search Authority you also get a monthly AI visibility report.
Whoever built our site has moved on, and we can’t change a price
Scotland’s 219,570 firms include 177,505 with fewer than ten staff, which means the owner often looks after the website as well. You hold the domain, hosting login, Analytics and Search Console from the first day, and the Business Website comes with a 1 hour training video. If you don’t want to touch it, Website Care from £49 a month handles updates.
Customers read our page, then book a firm with a clearer offer
Scotland counts 27,200 professional, scientific and technical firms, so a buyer often compares a few before choosing. A visible price, a proof point and one clear button above the fold settle it. The £1,495 Business Website counts calls, form sends and WhatsApp taps, so you see what works. If the design is fine, the £595 On-page SEO Fix tunes up to 10 pages and shows rankings before and after.

Around 500 location pages built in WordPress, one per UK town and region.

GK Jewelers: traffic recovered within a week of a bad redesign, then doubled
A redesign cut clicks to about a fifth in three days. We mapped the redirects, then improved category and product pages.

A new WordPress site, designed and launched on 9 August 2026. The owner reports enquiries already coming in.

Read the case studyI hired Muhammad after spending two years with two different SEO companies that achieved virtually nothing. Muhammad achieved more in six months than those companies did in two years. Since working with him, I’ve seen an increase in client bookings, with some clients even telling me they found my company because it was recommended by ChatGPT and Claude. …Read the full review
It was a pleasure to work with Muhammad on our new website. He took the time to understand our brief and broke down each step of the process so I was always clear on exactly what he was doing and what was coming next. Muhammad delivered a professional, well built site that looks fantastic. We would highly recommend his services and will definitely be working with him again.
Absolutely STELLAR!!!! He came in and not only fixed someone's else's mistakes - but he did it quickly and now BOTH my mobile AND my desktop sites load quickly and look fantastic!! Thank you again!

What Scotland providers charge, and what we charge
We read 8 Scottish provider pages in Google UK results on 4 November 2026. Only 1 printed a website price, and none printed a monthly SEO price. Here’s that beside ours.
- from £1,750: a brochure website, on an Edinburgh designer’s page, which also says it works remotely
- from £3,000: an ecommerce website on a WooCommerce shop, on the same page
- £995, £1,495 or £2,495: Renozer, one-off and written into your quote, no VAT

| What you’re buying | What we found on Scotland pages | Renozer |
|---|---|---|
| A small business website | 1 of the 8 pages we read printed a website price: "Prices from £1750" for a brochure site and "Prices from £3000" for an online shop. The rest talk about "reasonable prices", "within budget" or payment plans | £995, £1,495 or £2,495 paid once, with no VAT and no monthly charge from us |
| Monthly SEO | None of the 8 pages printed a monthly SEO figure. One said "Prices from £750" for SEO, without saying whether that’s one-off or monthly | £295, £495 or £695 a month, with 30 days’ notice once the first three months are done |

Local SEO across Scotland
How customers across Scotland search for you
A ski hire shop in Aviemore, a farm in Orkney and a consultant in Edinburgh don’t get found in the same way. Here’s how three very different parts of the country search, and what we’d do about it.
Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Central Belt
Edinburgh is the capital and Glasgow the biggest city, so most Scottish buyers and most Scottish rivals sit here. People type the city: "web design Edinburgh" runs at about 1,000 a month at a competition score of 0.29, "web design Glasgow" at about 1,000 at 0.39 and "web design Stirling" at about 90 at 0.35. A country-wide page can’t beat a city page on those, so we’d aim yours at the city you actually serve. Tell us what pays your bills on the quote form.
Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth and the east coast
Aberdeen has been called the offshore oil capital of Europe since North Sea oil was found in 1969, Dundee is rebuilding its waterfront around the V&A, and Fife has 373,990 residents, the third most of any council area. Searches follow the place: "web design Aberdeen" is about 590 a month at 0.07, "web design Dundee" about 320 at 0.20, though most months run between 70 and 260, and "web design Fife" about 260 at 0.11. Competition is lighter than in the two big cities, which suits a small firm. Ring 0161 394 2632 or use the quote form and list the areas you cover.
Inverness, Fort William, Skye, Orkney and the south
Inverness serves a Highlands and Islands region of around half a million people, covering 51% of Scotland’s land, and Fort William is the next biggest settlement in the Highland council area. Skye lives on tourism, agriculture and fishing, and on Orkney farming is the biggest sector. Local searches here are small but real: "web design Inverness" is about 210 a month and "web design Highlands" about 50. Customers in the islands and the south search the nearest big name as well, so your Business Profile should list every place you reach. Send them on the quote form and we’ll plan around them.
From a search to an enquiry, step by step
A typical local search in Scotland, and the part we handle at each step.
- They search the job and the townWe match your pages to how people really search, like "ski hire Aviemore".
- Google shows map results near the topWe set up your Maps category, service area and reviews so you can appear there.
- They tap the business they trustA fast page for each service, with your prices, photos and proof.
- The visit becomes an enquiryA short quote form that lands straight in your inbox.

Working with a remote web designer for Scotland businesses
We’re not based in Scotland and we won’t pretend to be. Here’s how it works, and the three worries people raise most.
- “You’re not local”
We work remotely with UK businesses, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm UK time, by video call, phone, WhatsApp and email.
- “I’d like to meet someone first”
Every project starts with a video call where you see Younus and his screen, and you approve the designs before anything is built.
- “What if you disappear?”
You own every account from day one, and you can pay through Upwork so your money is only released when you approve each stage.
